In Case You Stop ByCopyright 2002 Stan LynessI got some berries in case you stop by, you might, you said, you know, so I made shortcake to have on hand; it's good to have things on hand, in case your sun and moon drop in or maybe the Pope, so anyway I whipped up some cream to have, in case. The cream I had to pitch, and I hurriedly gobbled the berries. Who knew berries could turn so fast? Now the shortcakes should keep forever, in the freezer, and would have, but the power went out in a storm, last winter. What a treat for me, shortcakes in winter! And now I keep butter and flour and sugar in case you stop by. And frozen berries too. And there's Cool Whip waiting, in a cold case at the corner store, for whenever it's needed, in case you stop by. You might, you said, you know. |
