I'm a singer and impersonator all rolled into one;
Robin Williams and Caruso got nothin on me.
I'm a twenty-ounce boombox of audible fun,
so let's make this bunch of branches our family tree,
I'm gettin' propositioned by the lady orioles,
the bobolinks weep when I sing bobolink soul,
I trill a blue jay trill to make the lady jays swoon,
and the male phoebes scatter when I chatter their tune.
The entire bird world but you can see
there is no fitter father for your brood than me.

If I can serenade the neighborhood hours without rest
with a thousand-one selections and no repeats
I can certainly deliver worms back to our nest,
and barf into them little babies' beaks.
I'll teach 'em how to listen an' I'll teach 'em how to sing
an' how to keep an audience balanced on a wing,
an' sweet warbler warbles an' pompous cardinal prose
an' the sheer unbridled pleasure of makin' fun of crows.
I'll coach 'em in The Method and in comedy,
for there is no fitter father for your clutch than me.
