Turning on "Original Sound" to play music over Zoom

Zoom and its ilk optimize conference sound for speech, so song syllables get attenuated and musical accompaniment gets suppressed - Zoom treats it as noise - unless you select this button at the top left of your Zoom screen

Which you have not got, unless you enabled it in advanced audio settings.  So let's enable it.

If you have time to watch this video, that's all you need!  Or, read on:

If you're already in a Zoom meeting, you should see in the lower left next to the microphone button a ^ .  Click it to bring up a large menu, and select "Audio settings".

(Outside of a meeting, you can go to the 'home' tab and click the gear icon on the top right to get to settings, then click "Audio settings" on the left.)

However you get here, in Audio settings, click Advanced.

Then in Advanced Audio Settings, check the "Show in-meeting option to Enable Original Sound from microphone" box:

You also want to disable both "Suppress Background Noise" settings; you can leave "Echo cancellation" on "Auto".

Then back in your Zoom meeting, and in your next Zoom meeting, you should see that "Turn on Original Sound" button.  You'll want to "Turn on Original Sound" when you're presenting music. You'll probably want it off at other times for speaking.
